Slingshot Consulting worked with the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) to better integrate its core business processes, and to centralise a number of key activities in AMSA’s 24/7 Response Centre. This review and ‘action learning’ project included engaging with a cross-section of staff and facilitating seven multi-functional ‘integrated operations’ project teams to scope and design new work processes and responsibilities to centralise key response functions.
Slingshot Consulting recently facilitated a team planning and team building day for a key work group of the Moreton Bay Regional Council. This included a MBTI session, a facilitated team discussion on how business units could work more effectively together, and a stakeholder analysis to agree priorities for the year.
Slingshot Consulting continues to provide executive coaching services to a number of clients including the Queensland University of Technology, and to a number of individual private clients. As a ‘Better Up’ coach, Jen West is also coaching clients in international corporates including Facebook, Inuit and Stanford University.
Strategic and Business Planning
Slingshot Consulting recently facilitated a team planning day for 100 staff from the Queensland Department of Health. This workshop included an ‘open space’ session to identify how different areas can work more constructively together.
Slingshot Consulting recently conducted a one-day planning workshop for a strategic policy area within Energex to identify actions required to assist with the organisational change. This workshop included presentations by the CEO and group activities to help staff work through the processes of change.
Slingshot Consulting undertook a review of the Queensland Building and Construction Commission’s (QBCC) business continuity arrangements, developed recovery plans for critical functions and updated key response plans. This project revitalised QBCC’s risk management, business continuity and crisis management arrangements, improving organisational resilience.
Slingshot Consulting recently delivered business continuity management discussion exercises for the Queensland Department of Housing and Public Works (DHPW) and the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries (DAF) to test business continuity arrangements. Following these exercises, Slingshot Consulting delivered comprehensive post exercise reports outlining improvement opportunities.
For over five years Slingshot Consulting has facilitated monthly Health, Safety, Environment and Quality (HSEQ) meetings for the Ranbury Group. This work continues. Slingshot also redesigned the organisation’s Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) system to assist in WHS certification. This included; re-designing WHS arrangements; modifying and developing new WHS procedures; developing a WHS Improvement Plan.
Slingshot Consulting was engaged by Compass Housing Queensland to review and document its core business processes. Slingshot Consulting worked with process owners to review and document these processes, and to develop KPIs. Slingshot subsequently worked with Compass on related projects, including strategic planning and business development planning.
